Hello again, Have you been to the Jasper, Indiana library. Someone did an Index of names
in the newspaper. Your family might be there. Donna

I just stumbled upon the Feucht family the day I wrote you, so no, I don't
know if that is the correct spelling. I have been searching for the
whereabouts of Friederica Roos for a couple of years now and finally thought she must
have died around 1850-1852 because that is when her mother and father were
said to have died. I thought maybe an epidemic wiped out half the family or
something. Anyway, I happened to be looking at Mike Gramelspacher's website, saw
that he had Fulda baptisms online and searched them on a whim. That is where
I found Johanna Gertud Feucht, listed as daughter of Peter Feucht and
Friederica Roos.
Friederica, her parents and siblings Thekla, Pauline, John, and Peter came
over from Kuppenheim, Germany in 1846. I know the father, Wendelin, died in
1852 but can find no death date or place of burial for him. His will includes
only John, Peter, Friederica and Margaret Martin, listed as the daughter of
Wendelin's "deceased" daughter, Thelka. So I can only presume that sometime
in
between 1846 and 1852, Wendelin's wife, Margaret, Thekla, Pauline, and
Thekla's other daughter Maria Martin must have died.
I didn't mean to ramble, but since these people went to St. Ferdinand
Catholic Church until the Mariah Hill church was built I thought maybe one of them
would turn up in the Dubois Co. records someplace. Here are my missing blanks
in case you happen to have any death/marriage records close by:
death date and burial place of Wendelin Roos: said to be sometime in 1852
death date and burial place of Margaret Roos, wife of Wendelin
Marriage date and place of Thekla Roos to John Martin
death date and place of Thekla Martin and daughter Maria Martin
I'm going to check if there are any Fulda records available here in
Indianapolis because I have a feeling that is where I will find the information I
need on Thekla's family and Friedereka's.
Thanks for all of your help!
Faith
