I have hundreds of genealogy e-mails that I want to save. Has anyone one go
through this before? Is it possible to keep your old e-mails?
What is the best internet service that I can switch to? Let me know off
line, please.
AOL isn't all that bad...and losing your screen name is a good reason to stay
with a service that isn't going away.....but here's what I do with emails to
save.
I have several Word files (by surnames, location or special interest) and cut
and paste emails right into those Word files...headings and all. I find it
better than saving just emails alone because even though those files get very
big as I add primary source info and many emails, I can use the "Find" to
locate a specific person, location or keyword. Very quick!
If the info is really important, you can back it up to disk and never risk
loss on the computer.
