Pete,
I can't tell you all the great places to do research since it's been three
years since I've been there, but I can tell you that Dubois Co. has a really
great 4-H Campground. It's nice. My grandmother kept her camper out there
every year until she sold it two years ago. We camped there with her a
couple of times and it was nice. I don't know how you can contact them, but
maybe someone else on the list does.

Subject: [INDUBOIS] Visit to the County
Hello list members,
I am planning a visit to Dubois County from Colorado next month. I will
be
researching the history of the maternal side of my family. My
mother's
ancestors are Sturm, Tretter, Grewe, and Woerter. My mother tells me her
Sturm family was involved in a furniture manufacturing facility and the
hotel business in Jasper, in years past.
Right now, I tend to believe that my research will be centered in the
Jasper
area. She has also stated that the family attended Saint
Joseph's Church
there in Jasper.
Big Favor! Since my time in the area is somewhat limited, and I'd like to
make it quality time, would anyone be willing to suggest those special
research places that I should not miss while I am there?
Also, I will be towing a 25' travel trailer and would like to locate a
campground or RV park in Jasper or close by.
Any recommendations?
I will be grateful for any guidance that you may care to give.
Best regards,
Pete Ross
