Shirley,
Very glad you had a good trip to Jasper today and found what you
may have been looking for. One note: Siberia is in Perry County
not in Dubois. There are some records from St. Martin's
church at the Jasper Public Library, filed on the Perry
County bookshelf.
Best results in your research.
The lady at the courthouse will get a copy of your message when
I forward it to her. Her name is Rosemary Stewart.

I went to Dubois County today and want to thank all of those who
helped
me.
The records library is not only full of records; but has the most
knowledgeable clerk I have even seen. She not only found the records for
me; but told me about people and families in Dubois Co. If anyone knows
her, let her know how much I appreciated all her help. I did not get to
return after lunch to tell her.
The library has a genealogy room with a large table, many stacks of books
and files, a microfilm and fiche reader/printer, computer, and lots of
films. They also have a series of indexes of a book by Wilson that
amazed me. What a find. I spent my afternoon looking at films on my
Brady/Warthens.
(Bradys, Warthens and Gilpatricks come from Birdseye, Siberia and
Adyeville.)
I stopped by Birdseye on my way home and purchased a "Birdseye
Centennial" Book at a local grocery. It seems that the town of Birdseye
sits on top of a hill and the view is spectacular. The Book is full of
pictures and information on Birdseye. I then went down the road and
found Siberia. It was a small community in a valley that seemed to
center around a church.
I had a wonderful day.
