Let's continue to communicate and help each other in 1998. Cheers.
Here's the latest on the Anglo-Indian Reunion at Bangalore in January 1998:
1. To accommodate the Prime Minister, Mr.Inder Kumar Gujral's wishes the
inaugural function will be held on the 7th of January rather than the 6th.
As per the latest information, this change will help enable him to attend
the function. I must add that his final confirmation is yet to be received
as it also has to be cleared by the Election Commission Office, coming as
it does in an election period. All foreign delegates arriving by the 5th
can probably rest a little or take in some sight-seeing.
2. Apart from the dances and festivities there will be a symposium where
the future of the community in India will be discussed and eminent
Anglo-Indian delegates will present their papers on relevant Anglo-Indian
3. There will be a post-reunion session to be held in Calcutta from the
17th of December to the 20th. Do let me know if you require specific details.
Meanwhile according to the organisers, things are moving full steam ahead
with plans for a successful re-union. Hope to see some of you on your visit
to our motherland.
Cheers to 1998 and to all of you,
