I got this from a friend here in Fl he useto live around Muncie
Jim,
I may have some info on Shideler.
Checking a township map I have, 1887, there was one undertaker in Union
Township, Eaton, whose name was Witamayer, W. E., and who is shown as
settling in the county in 1862. He would have been about three miles north
of Shideler.
After checking the township plats of Union and Hamilton, I find only one
(unnamed) cemetery therein. I am sure that is not correct. It is the only
one that is close to Shideler. It is located about 1.5 miles bearing 055º
from the center of Shideler. Using another description of where it was
located, it was on the southern bank of the Mississinewa River at the right
border of the Union Township plat and along the Shideler Pike which ran east
and west.
Sending three partial plats of area by snail mail with items of interest
highlighted.
