I'm not sure what it is you're listing here. By that I mean, if I say what
do you have on all of them you named, how much work does that entail for you,
what information will it give me, etc. Problem is, I'm not sure what the
books are and how much I'm asking for. I'm trying to find out who the
parents of an M. J. Stewart are. (female) Since I don't know what the MJ
stands for, I can't identify her so can't give you her age, etc. I can only
tell you she wasn't married, may have gone by the surname of Whiting but most
likely Stewart, and had one child named Carrie (born in 1864 or 1865) and
three grandchildren by the names of Ruth, Paul and Mary. I don't know if
that helps any. I don't know what these books tell. Maybe if you can
describe the books to me, I can tell you what I need you to check for.
Educate me, if you will. I'd really appreciate any guidance you can give me.
Thank you heaps! Shirl in OH

Shirley, I know you said in your first
request to not answer unless one had
the will books in their home. This is improbable. So below is what I sent
thinking it might be of help to you. It is as it states, an index only to
the persons whose wills were probated and recorded in Will Books 1-5, the
time period each will book covers, along with the book and page number of
Stewart wills found in the index. I'm at a loss to know what you didn't
understand unless you didn't know that a testator is one who left a will???.
If you haven't checked the 1850 census for M J Stewart, this would probably
be a good place to start. I think the 1850 census for Delaware Co IN is
online. There may be someone on the Delaware Co list who does research at
Bracken Library where I understand the will books are located.
This si what I sent ~
