Hi Karen..
It appears that Mr. Hobbs was taken care of by Meeks Mortuary. (Meeks Book 328 Oct 31,
1982 to Dec. 22, 1982) Here is what I found:
Obituary:
C. Burl Hobbs
C. Burl Hobbs, 64, died shortly after arrival at Ball Hospital Thursday after suffering an
apparent heart attack at his residence, 1800 E. 18th.
Mr. Hobbs was born in Muncie, graduated from Central High School in 1936, and spent
his entire life in the Muncie community. During World War II he served with the Army.
For 33 years Mr. Hobbs was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Muncie. At the
time of his retirement in 1973 he was a supervisor.
He was a member of 16th Street Church of God, Knights of Pythias, Post 12, Amvets, and
the Post Office Sympathy Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; his mother Beryl Walters, Muncie; a half-sister,
Marjorie Denny, Muncie; and two nieces.
Services will be at 10 s.m. Monday at the 16th Street Church of God. Interment will be
in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday or at the church
one-half hour prior to service time on Monday.
