Barb,
When did Rubie die? Was it in Delaware County? I am curious about Warren
Bice. I couldn't find him right off the bat in any of the census records,
but in the 1900 census, I did find a William Bice, wife Emma, and two
daughters named Blanche and Pearline! William and Emma would have been the
right age etc to have had a son named Moral....... Thinking that Moral and
Mary may have named two daughters, Rubie Pearline and Blanche, after the two
mentioned above. A problem with the BICE surname is that it has so many
accidental variations on the spelling: BIAS being one of the more common
variants. The census taker is always under a cloud of suspicion! LOL! The
worst case I've seen as far as names go: the census taker did write out the
given name, but used only initials. What a bummer! but I digress....
About parents on the death certificates; I would say yes to later
certificates, and maybe to earlier documents. When writing for a death
certificate, I always ask specifically for the names of the parents, because
if don't ask, the clerk doesn't always send it. (it's a good idea to ask
for ALL information for any document -- this helps the clerk know exactly
what you want)
I'm sure you'll hear from others on the list.
Regards,
Virginia
Thank you Virginia...Indiana folks are the BEST! One question to all
of
you...does the actual death record state parentage? Thanks..barb
