Did you ever find out if this Robert Gibson was related to Samuel Gibson who
married Nancy "Emily" Smith in Delaware County, IN, on February 28, 1866
(C-4-522)?
Samuel and Emily had six children. To carry the Gibson name, they would have
to be Frank S. Gibson (born in 1867) or Earl V. Gibson (born in 1878).(The
other four were daughters.)
One source states that Samuel's father was Bort Gibson and another source
states his father was Robert Gibson "native of Scioto County, OH". So
something is wrong with what I have written down (or my sources!)
Do you have any idea which is correct?
My mother's Smiths had lots of kin in Delaware County, IN, so there is
always a name or cemetery that seems to fit in somewhere.
Always looking for new pieces to my puzzle,
MaryLu in Minnesota

Subject: [INDELAWA-L] Clara Hayhurst married to Robert Gibson
Clara J. Hayhurst was born 15 Sep 1861 in Marion Co. W. Virginia, the
dau.
of Orlando Hayhurst and Dorcas Constable. She married the widower Robert
Gibson, 11 May 1895 in Marion Co. But he was from Muncie, Delaware Co.,
Indiana and they there to live. Both are buried in Rees Cemetery, Perry twp,
Delaware Co, Indiana BUT their tombstones have no death dates. Does any one
know when they died. They are both in the 1920m census, but not in 1930.
Thank you, Kathleen Rizer
