DEATHS
Mattie May, the wife of Albert H. Brown, died at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon, of
consumption, at her home in Harrison township. The funeral will occur at 1'clock
Monday afternoon from the residence. Interment will be made at Bethel. The deceased was
the sister of Mrs. George Miller, of 290 Kilgore avenue.

ANOTHER PIONEER SUCCUMBS
Joshua Brown, 72, a well known resident of Delaware county, died at his home two miles
northwest of Muncie about 3:30 o'clock yesterday morning after a several months
illness. He is survived by a widow, one daughter, Mrs. William Ames, and four sons, John
W., George, Albert and Seymour. The funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10
o'clock in the Riverside U.B. church. Interment will be made in Bethel cemetery.

RETIRED FARMER IS DEAD AT HOME HERE
J.W. Brown, 72, retired farmer, died Sunday at his home, 804 North Jefferson St. He was a
lifelong resident of Delaware County. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday
at the Normal City U.B. Church, and burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Browm was a member of the Methodist Church of Eaton and of Red Men's Lodge at
Cammack. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Mary Brown; a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Harmon of
Muncie; two brothers, Al Brown of Anderson and George Brown of Hartford City; six
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Earl Parson
Mortuary and Monday was returned to the residence, where friends may call after 6 p.m.

MRS MARY BROWN DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER
Mrs. Mary Alice Brown, 80, widow of John W. Brown,died at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday at the home
of her daughter, Mrs William M. Harmon, 804 North Jefferson St. She had been ill only a
short time.
Mrs. Brown was a lifelong resident of Delaware County. Surviving besides the daughter are
a son, Albert Applegate of Muncie; a sister, Mrs. Eliza Gibson of Hagerstown; six
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday
at 2 p.m. in the Normal City U.B. Church, of which Mrs. Brown was a member. Burial will be
in Bethel Cemetery. The body was to be returned to the daughter's residence from the
Earl K. Parson Mortuary, Tuesday afternoon.

YOUNG GIRL DIES.
Myrtle D. Brown, 16, daughter of Albert H. Brown, died at the home of her grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Joshua E. Brown, on Riverside avenue Saturday night. The funeral will be held
in the Normal City U.B. church this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. It will be in charge of
the Rev. J. Walter Gibson. Burial will be made in Bethel cemetery.
