Hi Everyone!
I have chatted with Gene about the Delaware List and Site also, but it has
been a few weeks. He said anyone interested in volunteering needs to contact
him.
If you are interested, keep contacting him, and hopefully he will appoint
someone as our new Mommy or Daddy. I don't know why he hasn't gotten back
with Virginia, but I would think he will appoint whoever shows the most
interest. But don't tell him it was my idea to bombard him with emails <G>
If it continues to go without a coordinator, I can try and link a temporary
page to the Randolph site, for Delaware county stuff. If I am allowed to, I
have had a few emails in the past from people wanting to contribute new
articles to the site, because they couldn't get ahold of Kelly. Hopefully
they are still around and didn't give up on the site. It don't take long for
a list and site to die off.
I don't like being an orphan that is for sure!!! <G>

Subject: [INDELAWA-L] FYI - Delaware County site
For those of you who've been wondering, this seems to be where we
are. I
know a lot of you didn't even know the site had been put up for
adoption. I
just found out a couple of weeks ago. Apparently it was listed on Rootsweb
but I guess that doesn't mean the list is notified. I don't understand that
but that's the way it is.
I've just forwarded all communication this morning between Gene and myself
so
you can start reading from the bottom up.
I'd also like to mention how well we've managed ourselves on the list -
even without a list mom. It's great belonging to such a list and I hope we
can keep it active for however long it takes to get our site adopted. No
further comment is needed from me on that subject.

I'm not subscribed to the Delaware County list, but if you want to pass
this
information on, I'm ok with that.

I understand. Would it be possible to keep the list posted?

Virginia did email me but Susan VanDyke was the first one to indicate an
interest. I'm waiting to hear back from her.

Might the volunteer have been Virginia? She emailed and asked me about
a week
ago, indicating that she hadn't heard back from you. Perhaps she
didn't get your email for some reason. Virginia has a site of her own (for
Delaware County) which isn't part of rootsweb. It's pretty nice. I also
know that she'd be willing to take it permanently if necessary or on a
temporary basis is Kelly should return and want to do the site again.
I didn't tell Kelly about the site being up for adoption simply because
her
brief email also said not to email her back because she was "going
home". I took that to mean she was leaving the house/computer she was using
at that moment. She specifically said not to email her back because of
that. I might try anyway but don't know how much good it would do.

Shirley, a volunteer did come forward. I've emailed her back with
information, but have not heard from her since then. I've not heard from
Kelly since last July. Did you indicate to her that Delaware County was up
for Adoption?

Hi Gene,
I'm just curious as to what's happening with the Delaware County site.
I
know for some time now we've had two volunteers for that site but I've
seen no activity on it yet. We have a lot of people wanting to contribute
material for the site.
I did get one email from Kelly about two weeks ago. She was using
someone
else's computer/email and said she might be back on line in a couple
of weeks. I've seen no more signs of it nor have I heard anymore from her.
