I am looking into a possible military service. There
was no hint of that at the cemetery. There were flags
everywhere else but not on his. That doesn't mean he
didn't serve but...

Tina,
You need to contact the township trustee to see if
there are records that would tell you who arranged
the burial. IF there are records, they might not
show anything useful, but you never know.
Did you check military listings for John?
I'm not sure what the health dept would have during
that time. Gina could answer that for you (on the
list, I hope) - useful information.

Hi! I have a few questions.
1. Listed in the cemetery listings for Saunders
Cemetery are many Minnicks. I was just there on
Friday and could only find two. Is there a burial
plot map with names that the list was from? I
found
George and Mary E. Minnick and another Minnick
family.
I could not find Andrew or the others.
2. I have been trying to find the parents of Mary
E.
Reynolds. I can not find any info that definitely
links her to any one set of parents. Her marriage
record to George can not be found in Delaware or
Madison County(most burned in a fire). I did find
a
family listing in 1850 census that has a Mary
Reynolds
the right age and in close proximity to where
George
and her set up house. I am also fairly sure that
I
found George and Mary in the 1860 census which
would
have been right after their marriage across the
border
in Madison County. I can not find an 1860 census
listing who I suspect is her parents to rule out
her
still living at home, thus the wrong Mary!! Any
suggestions?
3. John and Loretta Reynolds were the parents in
the
1850 census along with a sister, Sarah. I found a
marriage record for John Reynolds and Loretta
Dusang
married May 7, 1843 (C-2 page 73)on the website
for
Delaware. Does anyone know this family? When did
John die and where? Might get lucky and find a
will
with Mary Minnick listed.
4. Searched for an obit at the Muncie Library and
did
not find one for George and Mary Minnick.
Does anyone have any other suggestions to confirm
or
deny this connection? Where else to look? Any
help
would be greatly appreciated.
