The plaque to Thomas Poor that I would like a photo of and to know
what it says, was described to me as being north of Eaton. Here is
what the woman who first told me about the plaque said about its
location. If this rings a bell with anyone who lives by Eaton, please
let me know. Gina has said she'd try to find it next time she goes
there, but one of you reading this may be closer. This large stone
set in the corner of a field is my ancestors land so I'd love to have
just a snap or two or the area as well. The school was in bottom
right corner of 80 acres and there's a great family story to go with
the school. One of my ancestors sons (his eldest) was actually
arrested for throwing live firecrackers in the school during the day
of the spelling bee.
The plaque is placed on a large stone and set in the corner of a
field near the road. As I recall, it is at a corner where two roads
intersect. All that I can remember about the location is that it two
or three miles east of highway 3 and two three miles north of Eaton.
