If all of you come to GenFest, the Local History and Genealogy library has a book showing
the Indiana territories and county maps and the evolution of each. *grin*

I was wondering, does the book you have, have a map in it? If so, could you scan it and
send to the coordinator of this list so she can post it on the site, without seeing a
reference map, we have a little hard refering to this area as a different place other than
Randolph County. If not then I will reference a book I know of and see if there is a map
for those time periods in it of Indiana as a territory. Andrea Long

Vince,
The title of the book is "Census of Indiana Territory for 1807. published by
Indiana Historical Society of Indianapolis IN.
Preface ..."Only three Indiana counties were formed before 1808, being Knox 1790,
Clark 1801, and Dearborn 1803. Two Illinois counties St. Clair 1790 and Randolph 1795,
were also in the Indiana Territory whose capital was Vincennes.
I'm researchng Knox & Daviess Counties, but I guess I should also post this
information in Illinois.
