I lived in the 5 points area in the 50's, there was a drug store, walters
grocery, there was a large apt house on the south west corner (it is no
longer there) also a church there that I went to, the 5 points Nazarene
church, the church is still there, I don't remember a Hotel unless that
large apt. building was one. I just knew of the drug store as 5 points drug
store, don't know who owned it. We would go in the drug store and get
fountain cokes, and Walters for penny candy.

June,
My dad grew up in the Five Points area, and he said in the past 75 years
there was not a Hotel there that he remembers seeing.
There was a Waller's Grocery and Alexander's Drug store. My mother said
one
of the stores had an upstairs that may have looked like it had rooms, but
if
it was a hotel it would have been before the 1930's.
Both of the old buildings are still standing on the corner. They are now a
Texas Holdem Poker establishment.<G>
