How sad this is.
Maybe respect for pioneer cemeteries could begin with the primary grade
unit on Indiana history, which I think is taught 4th grade. That unit has
certain state requirements, so it appears any action to amend it might need
to begin in the State legislature. New legislation would trigger a
response from the IN Dept of Education.

the damage appears to be in the old section, including one of the old
metal stones which some Cretan ripped the top half from. It would be a
good idea to include in a high school class, a few days of instruction on
the meaning of cemeteries - perhaps have a little field work in doing
repairs and clean-up included. Maybe after a day or two of that,
students would begin to rat on each other and the damage might
