Mary Lu,
Gonna cut in on this conversation,
There is a Tabor church across from Tabor cemetery it is in Salem Township.
This is the church mentioned in the obits. This cemetery is often confused
with Mount Tabor cemetery in Liberty township. The same happens with the
Mount Pleasant cemeteries. There are three in Delaware County.
I would imagine if there was a Mount Tabor church there would be record of
it somewhere. If the M.E. churches have no records of it I would assume
there was not one.
I did a look up for you a few years ago about this, I contacted a few of the
local M.E. churches. No one had heard of a Mount Tabor church. The ministers
that I spoke to said if there was a church at one time and it is no longer
in use, the records would have been sent to one of the regional
headquarters and stored.
Did you ever call them and see what they had to say?
Gina

Sandy:
Funny thing, the Delaware County Historical Alliance told me for years
that
there was NO Mt. Tabor M. E. Church. Just the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. As
they
found no information on the Mt. Tabor M. E . Church - not even a picture!
Apparently there are others who believe there was a Mt. Tabor M. E .
Church.
