Hi Shirley,
I know we have talked before, but not sure if it was this line. Probably not. My FTM is
not up to date. I lost some data in a computer crash, but perhaps I will have a little on
Hinkle that you don't have. I would be most interested in the progression of Hinkles
from the original Rev. Anthony through PA, seeing where they stopped before going to OH.
Redenbaughs were in and around Reading in Berks Co for awhile. I suspect but can't yet
prove that they were in Northumberland Co briefly, where they improved a tract of land,
thereby getting enough money to provide land for their adult children when they got to
Hamilton Co OH. They had a fondness for Reading in Berks Co and suggested the name for
that section of Cincinnati that is called Reading to this day.

I am. And happy to see others are still doing Hinkle/Henkel/Henkle
research. All variations are related to the original Herr Rev. Anthony
Henkel in Philadelphia.
I have a lot of information on them but have not entered any into my family
tree software. Specifics will be hard to locate but will be happy to give
it all I can.

I'm not Hinkle researcher but am interested in the family as persons who
lived near and associated with my Redenbaugh family in Hamilton and Butler
Cos. OH. If you have any information about Hinkles in PA, I would be
interested in the off chance that they travelled with the Redenbaughs from
southeastern PA to Cincinnatti at about the same time (abt 1800.)
Redenbaughs served in the War of 1812 in Tony Hinkle's company, and Adam
Redenbaugh 1809-1884 marred Mary A. Redenbaugh Butler Co OH. Some
Redenbaughs (Redinbo) moved up to Miami/Shelby Cos OH, which is the path
your Margaret may have taken. Lots of people moved from west central OH
into west central IN as land opened up in Delaware and other counties. They
could take the river and raft right over into IN. This maybe how yours came
to Howard Co.
