You are most welcome. Of all the brothers I would think Elijiah might be the most
possible father. Elijiah was the next oldest brother to Jeremiah Jr born 1792. I think he
married in 1812, so he could easily have had a child in 1814 and named him Jeremiah. Since
only head of household was named in census until 1850, a child of that age could easily
have slipped through the cracks. When there is no probate to speak of it makes things
difficult. Births were not recorded in Springfield, OH at that time. Elijiah moved to
Delaware County later in life so that could link him to children in the area (possibly). I
don't recall but I think Mt Pleasant Schools is Yorktown, so they would have lived at
the edge of the county, so it is possible county lines shifted or they moved slightly into
another county. You could always look in surrounding counties. Marion (city not county)has
a National Cemetery and many many Civil War vets are buried there if I recall. It is
always possible Jer!
emiah and Hannah are not buried together. Neither show up in the records of Meeks funeral
home. I still think it is possible they could be in Clark Co, Ohio and lost in the flood.
There are several court records referencing the Priests in Delaware County. If you get to
the Muncie Library site you can see them there. Happy hunting! Let me know if you ever
figure it out.
