I am hoping someone who lives in the area can help me with one or dare I hope? both
requests for this individual. First, a death record look up for a JOHN H. KING
JOHN H. KING
born: 03 October 1813 Pennsylvania (possible Franklin Co)
died: 05 December 1899 Muncie, Delaware Co. Indiana
At the time of his death, he was married to his 2nd wife, MARY PARSONS. I have him last on
the 1880 census placing him in Delaware County. Since the 1890 Census is fragmented at
best and John has died by the 1900? Thats as good as I've been able to do. I am trying
hard to locate information on who his parents might have been. I haven't been able to
locate info on his first wife, (My line) Susanna Stiffler/Steffler...like a definate
birthdate or death date...though she died in Delaware County, I haven't been able to
find a death record or her and John's marriage record that MIGHT provide some clues as
to her or John King's parents. I have John H. King's obituary/death notice and a
copy of his second marriage's record...again, no luck.
Hoping someone might be doing research in the area (Muncie/Delaware County) and perhaps
help with the death record look up...I will, of course, re-imburse any copy expenses and?
2nd request is for someone who again, by luck or chance...might live near the cemetery
where John H. King and several other family members are buried. It is called CLEVANGER
cemetery but is also known as SWINGLEY
Suppose to be located about 1 1/2 miles southeast of Windsor off of Base road? In Stoney
Creek Township. I am interested in locating either a caretaker who might have burial
records or better yet? someone who could take photo's of the headstones (if any left)
I had planned a trip to Indiana to do all this myself but a health issue now prevents it.
I appreciate anyone who'd be inclined or takes an interest. Stacey
