Retired Realtor Dies, Long Illness
Caleb C. Pavey, 88, widely known retired real estate agent died at 3:30 o'clock
yesterday afternoon at his home 644 North Elm Street, after an extended illness. He was
born in Fountain County, but had been a resident of Muncie for forty-three years. Mr.
Pavey was a member of the Jackson Street Christian Church and the Dr. Spurgeon's
Sunday School Class.
Surviving are a widow, Mrs. Martha Pavey; one daughter, Mrs. J. S. Eone of Muncie; a
brother, Benjamin Pavey and one sister, Mrs. Alice Ratcliff, both of Crawfordsville.
Funeral services will be conducted at Meeks Morturay at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon,
Dr. Edgar Faye Daughtery, pastor of the Jackson Street Christian Church in charge. Burial
will be at Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence after 4 o'clock
Saturday afternoon.

Mrs. Martha Pavey Dies, Rites Thursday
Mrs. Martha Ellen Pavey, 93, widow of Caleb C. Pavey, died Tuesday at home, 644 N. Elm St.
after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Pavey was born in Park City, Indiana. At the age of 5, she was taken by her parents
to Carlyle, Kansas in a covered wagon. She was educated and taught school in Kansas
before her marriage. She then taught at Kingman, Indiana. She had been a resident of
Muncies for the past 60 years. She was a member of the Hazelwood Christian Church.
Mrs. Pavey is survived by one niece, Mrs. Harry Brook-Johns, who has made her home with
Mrs. Pavey for the past two years.
Funeral services will be at the Meeks Morturary at 3:30 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Robert
C. Sulanke officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
