Hi Tom,
Well I see your still at the brick wall with your Smith's. We talked
before about them, and could not find any connection with our Smith's
since we both are stuck. Well just wanted to let you know I have not run
across anything new either. I'm keeping my eyes open though.

Hi
I've about given up on this....
My Greatgrandmother was Mary Belle SMITH...she married Davie B. LYKINS in
1883 in Delaware Co. IN. I have their marriage records. On her marriage
certificate and a note written by her mother giving permission (Mary was
under age) her mother's maiden name was listed as Susan SMITH. Now as the
family folklore goes, it seems that Susan married a man named John DEVINE,
(listed as Mary's father on her death certificate). Shorty after Mary was
born Susan and John were either divorced or whatever. My Great Aunts say
that she then took back her maiden name..thus Susan Smith.
Mary was supposed to have been born in White Co. but cannot find proof.
Does this fit into anyone's Delaware Co. SMITH, DEVINE, or LYKINS
families?????
Take care gang
Tom
