Hi All,I`m going to take you all back in time,at least those who were born in
the twenties or thirties. This is a story my grnadmother told me,of her
childhood. This is probably in the late 1800` or early 1900`.She had a
friend,Emily Kimbrough in her childhood.Emily had a cousin,
Cornealis/Corneallis Otis Skinner, who visited Emily every summer in Muncie and
the three of them were pretty good friends.Well when Emily and Cornie graduated
high school they got a trip to Paris,by them selves.Their whole trip was a
fiasco, they got stuck on top of the Eiffel Tower alnight and started taking
their clothes off and throwing them down, thinking they would attract
attention, but they spent the night on the tower.
When they came back to the U S.,they wrote a book about their adventures "Our
Hearts Were young and Gay" by Cornealis [not sure of spelling] Otis Skinner and
Emily Kimbrough.A movie was made of it and starred Roz Russell and Janet Blair?
There use to be a Kimbrough Apt or hotel in Muncie, does anyone know where it
was?Oh yes Cornie` father was a classical actor in New York,Otis Skinner.
Would love any info on this, hopefully I didn`t dream it.
Thanks,
Norma [Losh] Runyon

Norma,
Would you mind checking the following names for me?
VAN MATRE (Also spelled Van Meter or Van Metre)
MILLER
If there are too many Millers, I am specifically looking for the family of
Eliza Miller, wife of Henry J Van Matre (m. 1844 Delaware Co., IN). She
might be related to Henry C Miller who m. Nancy Van Matre in 1847, Delaware
Co., IN.
Thank you,
