Barbara,
I read your post and find it interesting. My g-grandfather came to
Cincinnati in the 1860s and I've just learned that he had a brother who had
children who lived in Muncie and there is some connection to Cleveland also.
The name was Shannon and I have a 97 year old relative that remembers
visiting her husband's Uncle Mike Shannon in Muncie. I've put a message
out on the Delaware list, but got no response. I really don't have any more
information than the fact that his wife's name was Ida and they had 13 or so
children. Do you have an idea how I should proceed? I wonder what the
Muncie/Cleveland relationship is.
I'd love to hear any thoughts that you have.
Kathy Shannon Braun

Subject: [INDELAWA-L] Muncie connections
Searching for any information or leads on:
James Russell Williams b. October, 1887 Muncie s/o Hezekiah Williams and
Nora (Honora) Savage who lived in Cowan Twp. Delaware County. They were
Irish who later lived in Cleveland, Ohio, but are buried in Muncie
according to death certificates. Nora's brother John Savage still lived
in
Muncie in 1930 when she died according to the obituary published in
Cleveland. They were Catholics. Do any of the Catholic parishes have
cemeteries? What diocese is Muncie in? What is its address? I belonged to
the DCHA for many years, but never saw anything about Cowan Twp. in its
publications, can anyone tell me about the area?
