Dear William,
Bethel Pike is in Delaware County, running northwest out of Muncie to and
just past Bethel, which is a very small area near county roads 600-800
West. I am sure that you can locate it on any map of Delaware County. A
pike is a toll road. The man who had the pike built charged a fee to pass
a certain point. I think that now Bethel Ave. may run all the way (or
almost) to Hwy. 9 going through Alexandria.
My husband's relatives have lived on and near Bethel Pike for several
generations. If you run into any Hunters in your search, we're connected
that way.
The route of Bethel Ave. begins in Muncie at Wheeling Ave., continues past
Ball State University, and was rerouted in the 1980's to accommodate a lot
of building just northwest of Ball State (Walmart, car dealers, motels, etc.).
Hope this helps--
Deb
