I found the letter I spoke of in my files from Ann Whitaker Clark,
Kansas City Mo. dated March 1981.
She says-"My husband's mother was a Tweedy and I believe I can place
Arcadia and Sarah Tweedy as daughters of James F Tweedy jr and his wife
Mancy Dewitt. They married in 1833 in Delaware Co., Indiana, Arcadia
was born in 1835 in Ill., probably Edgar Co. Sarah was born in 1847 in
Indiana. James F Tweedy's family was in Vermillian. County, Indiana in
1840, Wells Co., Indiana in 1850 and family info handed down to me says
that 'he lived around Muncie' There are some of his decendants still
in that area.
My husband descends from two of James F Tweedy's half-brothers Samuel
and Robert Blakely Tweedy. We published a book in 1980 which included
our Tweedy family and as a result there was a Tweedy reunion this year
in Mo. and interest has grown."
4604 North Gladstone Ave. Kansas City, Mo.,64117 You might try writing
to her, It's chancy for an address that old.
