Hello Jill....and any who might be interested...
I checked the pension papers I have on David Lenox and here's what I found
and need to get posted on the website.
David was married to Roanna BONNER on 8 Aug 1853 in Henry County.
Child: Richard -- b Aug 5 1854
David and Roanna divorced - final May 2 1859 (Richard was found at
grandparents Lenox in 1860)
David and Elizabeth BALES married May 6, 1861 in Henry County, Indiana
Children:
John -- b Jul 7, 1862
Thankful -- b Nov 15, 1863
July 1, 1864 - David died of disease (from service in Civil War) while on
furlough at his home in Delaware County.
Thankful Ann - died May 1865
David's mother, Nancy Brown Lenox, gave a deposition with the birthdates of
the children and testified that John, Thankful, and John were children of
David and his wives. She was the midwife at the birthing of Richard and
John.
Elizabeth Bales married several times after David's death, but since none of
her subsequent husbands had served in the Civil War, she was eventually
allowed a pension based on David's service and death.
I haven't really determined what happened to Richard and John - beyond the
fact that they had guardians appointed - do you know anything about them?
So what do you think?
Well, I obviously got sidetracked when I got this far with the Lenox
family...I'll try to get it straightened up.

One thing i did notice though was that you have Thankful A. Lenox
listed as
the daughter of David & Elizabeth Lenox.
I recently came across THe Delaware County Biographies, on the internet,
that blists her parents as Isaac and Ann ( or Catherine)Masterson Lenox. It
also stated that Ann's parents were James and Thankful Masterson. By chance
have you seen this site yet? Where did they find this information ?
