Listers,
Wouldn't it be wonderful if a small team of local volunteers could offer to organize
those records????? I'll bet they'd be glad to
have that job and the records off their hands.
Ok, ok....don't hit.
'unidentified' in Ohio. LOL

Regarding Mortuary Records. I believe Parson Mortuary has a lot of the
records. I found they do have records from Piepho. However, they are in
file cabinets in their basement piled up and in front of one another, and
they are unable to get to them.
I believe maybe the thought was to eventually donate to the historical
society. I was not able to get the information that I wanted, however, they
were sure that they had it.
What I am looking for is John Luke Johnson records so that I might be able to
learn his parents names. He was born January 29, 1835 in Kentucky, came to
Indiana in 1900 when his wife died. I do not know exact date of death at
this time, but do know that he died in 1932. The notice of his obit states
he was thought to be the oldest resident of Delaware County at the time of
his death - 97 years old. At the time of his death he was living with my
grandmother, Martha Belle Carpenter at 806 N. Elm, Muncie, Indiana.
Actually at that time the mortuary was Moffitt and Piepho funeral home.
If anyone has any information about John Luke, I surely would appreciate it.
Thanks.
