I sent this to Rachel yesterday in response to her query about the floods in Muncie.

Rachel,
I was born in Muncie and I can't say about earlier than 1913 but Muncie was involved
in that terrible flood of 1913. Up until a
couple of years ago you could still see the watermark on a little stucco house by the
river. They finally painted it and I miss the
reminder of what Muncie went through. Over the next couple of years they built a dike
along the river and during and after my own
childhood have built a beautiful road on the dike and parks along the river.
