Bilbrey Reunion
The annual Bilbrey Reunion will be on Saturday, October 1, 2011, between the hours of
9:00 am and 4:00 pm. The reunion is changing locations this year. It will be held at the
Tennessee Technology Center at 740 Hi Tech Drive, Livingston, TN. For anyone interested
in genealogy, John Halsell will be at the Millard Oakley Public Library on Friday,
September 30, from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm. to assist you.
This reunion is for all the Bilbrey descendents and their extended families. The three
Bilbrey brothers, Isham, Johnny, and Lawrence, along with their families, settled near the
area of Oak Hill in the early 1800’s. The Bilbrey family now spans practically every state
in the Union. The Bilbrey’s are one of the oldest and most civic-oriented families in the
area. There are clergymen, farmers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, authors, musicians , and
just good, ordinary citizens that are a part of the Bilbrey family. Our nation has never
suffered a war that there has not been a substantial number of volunteers from the Bilbrey
family. This can make us all proud.
This year’s reunion will be a very special one. You will hear about J. Jefferson
Bilbrey, a cousin and Confederate soldier, and meet John Calvin Bilbrey’s grandson.Come
join us to make new acquaintances and renew old ones. This will be a covered dish affair,
and out-of-town relatives can bring paper plates, spoons, forks, cups and bottled
water/drinks. There will be entertainment provided by The Bilbrey’s (Bob and Nelda) of
Park City, Kentucky. Please notify others of this reunion.
