Micki,
Your name sounds familiar to me - maybe through the Yorktown Mt. Pleasant Historical
Alliance.
Now that I that I think about it I'm wondering if my grandma's Snodgrass cousin
was through her Stewart's. I'd almost bet on that as they were cose to the
Stewart family. Grandma's grandma was a Stewart. If you get a minute, could you
check for that?
Shirley

Hi Shirley, Actually I haven't done anything on this line since 1999. I took a quick
look and I do not even have a Dickerson connection. I didn't look through all the
"paper stuff" though. When I say your email, the name did not ring a bell.
Sorry. I can't help. Maybe I can find something IF I have a little more information.
Hope everything up Indiana way is good. I've been in Florida since August 1999.
I keep up on your email posts for the meetings in Yorktown. Best wishes. Micki

Micki,
Do you know what exactly is the connection between the Snodgrass and Dickerson
lines?

Hello Everyone,
A voice out of the past - Shawn, for those of us who are not on facebook, would
you be willing to share some other way? I would be most interested in what you
have.
It's been probably 8 to 10 years since I have done anything with the
Snodgrass/Howell/Yingling/Dragoo and etc families. Shawn may remember that I
helped the committee with the Mt Pleasant twp part of the first new Delaware
County book. I lived in Brown County at the time.
There were many family intermarriages in the Cammack-Yorktown area in the early
years and our line mixes in most of them. My mother-in-law was Eva Pearl
Snoggrass, daughter of Jefferson Jarius Snodgrass. My father-in-law was one of
the sons of John Q Howell of Cammack. Both the Snodgrass and Howell famiies were
pioneers to Delaware County.
Thanks Shawn.
Micki

Hi All,
I have recently come into possession of an old family Bible. I actually had
to give it back, (LOL) but I scanned in the information from it.
It appears to be the Bible of one of the children or grandchildren of one of
the Belteshazzer <sic> Dragoos, and includes the surnames WEAVER, CONNER
and SNODGRASS.
Also included in the Bible was a picture. This picture is a tin type of a
man with a cigar in his mouth and it appears that he has a shaved head. This
is very unusual for a tin type in my experience.
Anyway, I am adding these scanned images to my group on Facebook at Gray's
Genealogical Gleanings.
If you have Facebook and you are interested in viewing them, feel free.
These items will be added around 6-7 pm tonight (Jan 18th, 2011).
I am very excited about this find, even though it is not my direct family. I
was hoping that it would be Nathaniel YINGLING's Bible since it came from
one of his descendents, but never the less a good find and I hope it is able
to shed some light on someone's work.
Thanks
Shawn Gray
