I'm looking for a death record and obit of Lena Herbert. She was born in Dec 1898 ...married Arther Paul Long Aug 17, 1915 ...he was killed in a tragic accident on Nov 2, 1936. Leaving behind Lena with 11 children to support. I'm not sure when she married again, but his name was Leo Halstead. They lived in the Muncie area ... any info on what happened to her after the 1936 accident and until her death would be very much appreciated.
Many Thanks, Mary

I'm looking for the parents of Francis Marion Russell ... born in parker city, Indiana April 9, 1887 per his 1942 World WarII enlistment record. He Married Fay Oley Dellinger Sept 14 1907. The family stories are that both were orphans from Germany ... but I found birth records for Fay ... so that doesn't check out ...unless Francis (Frank) was indeed orphaned. He was a blacksmith by trade ... and from his Enlistment record he named his employer as Muncie, Chevrolet in 1942. My mother remembers them having a farm late in their lives in Albany, Indiana ... THey had many children, one of which was my Grandfather, Harry Emit Russell ... any info would be appreciated!
Mary

There is a meeting of the Antique Interest group this coming Monday night at Minnetrista (7 PM). People who bring things usually have some interesting local history to impart with their treasures so this could be of interest to genie people. Please feel free to come and bring your treasures. This month's subject is pottery and there will be a speaker: Mark Eckelman, co-author of Muncie Pottery.

Does Ray Schuster have a brother, Uncle or any relative named Leonard Schuster? He also works on the Railroad and moves from Ohio to northern Indiana with the railroad.

April Meeting
Hello every one: Thought I had better let you know that our next Historical Alliance meeting will be April 20, the topic will be your memories of the Blizzard of 78 and a favorite memory or item from your past - this will give us a time to get to know everyone again.
The newsletter is running late due to a printer issue, this is a long story but you will probably all hear it so be ready. In the meantime if you hear about a wild lady with white hair threatening to jump over the bridge it will only be me throwing the printer over.
Not everyone has a-mail so please share this information with your friends. In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful blooms of this spring.
Hope to see you in April
