Have you read the following book by Ralph G. Rarick, History of the
Mississinewa Church of the Brethren Delaware Co., Indiana, (Brethren
Publishing House Elgin, Ill. 1917).
It has quite a bit of information about the Studebakers, Sniders, Gumps etc.
If you would like I have some of the pages scanned on my computer that I can
email to you. I believe you can order the book on cd through Heritage Quest.
I found a copy of the book at the Muncie Public Library.
I will also send you a copy of my file. It is not complete, I still have
quite a bit of information to add. I have some photos of tombstones too.
Let me know what sort of things you are interested in.

Hello Gina,
Thanks for responding. My primary interest is in the descendants of Jacob
Snider 1732-1790 and that includes Jacob's daughter who married Jacob
Studebaker. So if your spouse is a descendant of this line then he and I are
distant cousins. I too, have significant information to share with you and your
spouse. Perhaps we should continue this discussion off list.
Additionally, I am hoping to track down David Snyder / Snider, a brother to
Mary Snider who according to the Studebaker Book went to Delaware Co., Indiana
also. He probably passed on before 1850 which makes it difficult to track
him. He allegedly married his niece Susanna Studebaker, d/o Jacob Studebaker
and Mary Snider.
Forgot to mention that I have read and extracted info from the Rarick Book.
What is your spouses line of ancestors back to Jacob Studebaker and Mary
Snider?
I will send some files this evening.
Bob

My Halstead line was in Delaware and Henry Counties in the 1820s and
1930s. Peter Halstead owned land in the Eastern part of Delaware
county. Suddenly they all moved to Berrien Co, MI.

Hi! I noticed that one of your family names is MORRIS. So is my husband's

Are we connected? You can email. Thanks, Trish

I would be interested in more information regarding your spouses family
relative to the GUMP and STUDEBAKER surnames. Both of these surnames appear in
the descendancy of the marriage of Jacob Studebaker (1752-1813) to Mary Snider
(1756-1832).
