I was all over the MPL internet site last night, trying to find any land records. I can´t visit the library due to the distance. Who would I contact? Do they have records of land transactions at the library?
Thanks!

Subject: [INDELAWA] - Land deeds
Hi, List.
My Great Grandfather, William A. King bought some land along what is now SR 28. It is between where WesDel High School is and I-69, on the left as you drive towards I-69. How can I find that land deed? He lived 1864 -1928, marrying in 1894.
Thank you.

Someone told me there is 'still today' a small plaque in Eaton
thanking Thomas C. Poor (my ancestor) for donating part of his land
for the school. He was in Union Twp and I don't know the name of the
school, but would dearly love to either know what it says and on what
school it is, or have a photograph of it and that info. Does anyone
live in Eaton?
My branch of the Mansfields left Indiana between 1850 and 1860 so if photo was after that, I can't help. I am lucky to have a photo of William P Mansfield who died during the civil war taken about 1860.

Dear Gina - Sorry I haven't any information on Margaret daughter of William and Susannah Mansfield. My line goes through a brother James and I though I have some information about the other siblings, I only have bare bones in my data base. I am seeing that I need to pull all the papers together and add flesh.
Thank you for the offer of a picture of Rebecca's tombstone. I would really be appreciative. It will save me a trip to Indiana -:).
I have a very poor typed copy of those buried in the Mansfield Cemetery and I don't even know from whence it came. Says it was copied in 1975 and names Samuel Ball, wife Rebecca, William Mansfield, Susannah (Denning) Mansfield, Amelia wife of Elijah B Martindale, Rachael Wilson, Andrew son of Samuel and Rebecca Ball and Rebecca Goble. Then mentions two large bases with no stones, one with foot stone and initials S.W. Am I right in assuming that Samuel and Rebecca share a stone? I have another note from the Hoosier Genealogist vol 7 #2 March/April 1967 that mentioned 9 inscriptions but if it said who they were I didn't write it down. How many graves and/or stones were there. Depending on your answer I may contact PERSI and see if I can get a copy of the Hoosier Genealogist note.
Sorry not to be of more help.

Carleen,
Any donations you can make would be greatly appreciated. Mansfield Ball is
completed but your support could help the other cemeteries in that township.
There are two other cemeteries in Monroe township that are scheduled to be
restored next spring, Macedonia and Fairview Cemeteries.
Thank you for mentioning Rebecca Crum Mansfield. I had seen that her maiden
name was Crum somewhere a while back and had forgotten about it. I tried to
do a search on her the other night and couldn't find anything to tie her in
to the Mansfield family.
I have a Mansfield Question for you. Hopefully you may be able to help. I
was getting the marriage dates for the other Mansfield daughters that are
buried there, Rebecca Mansfield Ball, Amelia B. Mansfield Martindale, Rachel
Mansfield Wilson. I wanted to gather a little more information about the
daughters to include on the cemetery page.
When I pulled up the 1850 census for William and Susannah Mansfield it
showed they had a daughter named Margaret who was listed as deaf and dumb.
Do you know when she died or where she is buried? Just curious about her I
didn't find her on the 1860 census.
At the cemetery there are maybe 4 or 5 unknown graves outside the fence. On
one stone there are initials S. W. I thought maybe a child of Rachel
Wilson.??? There are also two graves inside the fence with field stones.
They both have field stones as a Head Stone & Foot Stone. They were found
placed perfectly in the row as if to mark children's graves.
I would love to find out who S. W. was. If you have any more information on
the cemetery please let me know.
When I have the photos up I will send a link back through so you can see the
tombstones and save copies of them.

Crum Mansfield Goble is my 4th great grandmother. I live in California and
am not able to actively participate in cemetery cleanups etc and did not
even know the Mansfield Ball Cemetery was still in existence though I knew
Rebecca was buried there. If I had I would gladly have sent money for the
restoration. Is there a fund that I could donate to in thanks for what was
done for my family? And a very heartfelt thank you to those who worked on
the restoration.

Don't forget to mark you calendars for GenFest 2007, an event you won't want to miss. Friday evening will provide extended hours for research and a big tent for food, socializing and entertainment. Rhonda has arranged to have The Company Singers from Huntington, all members of the Sons of Union Veterans, who'll be singing original Civil War songs. Saturday you can cruise the variety of fun vendors and exhibitors East Central Indiana for genealogists.
Bring your laptops and don't forget - Marion Public Library is geared for wireless. Your digital cameras can come in mighty handy for taking shots of microfilm and computer screens.
Rhonda has provided links for accommodations of all sorts. You may want to make your reservations ahead of time.
Rhonda and her staff are doing a bang-up job of putting together an exciting GenFest. http://www.marion.lib.in.us/genfest/genfest07.htm

Hey everyone,
I wanted to forward a link to an article that was in the Muncie Star Press about the Restoration and Rededication of the Ball Mansfield Cemetery.

I took photos of the cemetery when I was at the rededication ceremony and will be adding them to the page that is already up on the Delaware County site.

The cemetery looks wonderful! Since they removed several trees you can now see the cemetery from Highway 3.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend,

Nothing showing under Ralstead. Tomlinson records are difficult to read and incomplete. I and a small team will be reading and photographing the cemetery but probably not until Spring. We hope to get those burials without headstones too but can't promise.
