U.B. is for United Brethren, most of those churches are now United
Methodist.
My Harmon and Brown families were members of Normal City U.B. church. It is
now a Methodist church too.
It will depend on the church whether they kept their records.
Normal City U.B. has a history room, when I went in to talk with them, I was
told one of the church log books the Ministers use, that recorded
marriages and funerals had been thrown in the trash. They lady in the office
found it and rescued it.
I had tried to find information on some Methodist churches and was told the
records are sent off and kept in storage. It would depend on the region that
the church is located in to find the records.
If Mary Lu from Minnesota is still on this list she may have the
information, I was doing a look up for her when I called around and got the
info on where the records were kept. I don't have it in my records now.
If she don't have the info still, you can call a Methodist church and they
should be able to tell you where the records are kept and how to get in
contact with them.

Hello, List. I am looking for a list of death records that is more recent than 1920. Does anyone know of such a list? I don't want to just write in for a death certificate, I am looking for various deaths to see when they died.
Thank you very much.
Janni
The obits that I have from 1914 list the church as the Riverside U.B.
Church. I assumed it was United Baptist as they were originally of this faith.
I was wondering if there were any remaining church records from this
congregation?
Barb
You'd have to check with the church itself.

The church across from the Fairgrounds is a Methodist Church. There is also a large church on Wheeling, not far from the Methodist, that is a Salvation Army headquarters and church. I don't know what religion they claim though.

As you approach Daleville, going west from Muncie and just as you're entering the Daleville area, one yard on the SE side of the road has what appears to be a small mound. There are rocks and flowers there, which makes it seem to be a burial. Does anyone know what that is?

Are adoption records available or open from 1949? Can someone tell me how to find the birth parents of someone who is deceased that was born in 1949?
Shirley Pearson
I'm days behind in email, and your answer may have been found. If you got
no response, you might check to see if the records are at the Indiana State
Archives. One of the 42 Archives volunteers has been working on the Board
of State Charities adoptions (I think that's the correct name for the
agency.)

Hello List,
I purchased a copy of the 1914 history book, "Past and Present of Randolph County"
I created an every name index from the Biographies section of the book, and scanned all the photos from the book. Eventually I will have all the bios up on the site too. The first 25 bios are already online.
Many families from Delaware, Henry, Jay and Wayne Counties are mentioned.
You may want to take a peak and see if any of your ancestors are listed.

Hope it can be of some use to you!

Hi. Mine did, too. There is a typo in the address. It should read "gov"
