Hello Listers,
A new section, Black History in Delaware County, has been added to the site.
Am looking for indentified photos, clippings, obits, family groups sheets,
(the usual good genealogical stuff :-) to make these fledgling pages grow!
Please email me.

Many of you may know that the High Street Bridge is one of the favored access routes to downtown Muncie. It connects Wheeling Avenue from the north end of town to High Street, bringing you to all the east/west streets through town...namely Jackson, which runs right past the Muncie Public Library. If you aren't familiar with Muncie, this might not mean much to you. Either way, if you plan on coming into town from the north, via Wheeling Avenue, you might want to consider taking Walnut (south) instead of Wheeling. However, if you really prefer the Wheeling route, you'd want to turn right at the bridge construction, take White River Blvd. west to Jackson Street and turn east (left). Not so bad.
For those interested, I've enclosed a link for the article in yesterdays Muncie Star Press.
http://www.thestarpress.com/articles/2/033358-9502-004.html
For those of you who haven't discovered it, a great map is provided on the GenFest 2005 site. A direct link (below) will give you a great view of the area.
http://www.munpl.org/Main_Pages/Library_Hours.htm
PLEASE NOTE: Muncie Public Library has several branches, as the map above shows. GenFest 2005 is being held at the main building, Carnegie Library and the Local History and Genealogy Center downtown on Jackson. It's actually the easiest one to find.

Also, I am almost done with a list of other interesting places to go in Delaware and all the surrounding counties. As soon as I finish that, Lynne King, the miracle working webmaster for MPL will post it. I'd like to take this chance to thank Lynne for all her help.

Hi, again. I wrote to Mary Lou Gentis at Muncie Public Library to ask about
this card but her email bounced. Does anyone know how to contact her by
email? So far, I haven't found a way to get an all-encompassing library
card. Should be a "pass" or something available.
Thanks!

Karen, David's wife doesn't seem to be positively known. Some people
identify his wife as Elizabeth "Betsey" JOHNSON, but they usually include
questions marks with her name. Of course, he could have been married to
both.
I'm with you on mid-winter visits to the cemetery. Brrrr!!!

Mark, Do you know who your David Brown was married to. I don't have a death
date but I show David Brown married to Susannah Martha Gibson she is buried in
Rees Cemetery as well. Let me know and when the weather is warmer like about
70 degrees higher then what it is right now, I will go out to Rees Cemetery
and see what I can find and then go to Ball State to see if I can find the will.
Karen
Hi Karn and Mark,
Hope you don't mind my jumping in here. I have seen Susan Martha Gibson as
being married to John Lenox, Cooper and Brown.
I can't find that she would have married John Lennox. If so, it would have
been very brief?
I have recently found records that indicate she was married to Benjamin
Cooper living in Martin Co, IN, and I believe she is buried next to him in
Rees Cemetery. I'll have to review those findings again. I believe she was
married twice, but I can't find any record putting her with David Brown.
Since David Brown is one of my great grandpappies, I'd love to find sources
for his marriage to Susan Martha Gibson.
Cheers,
Virginia

Hello Listers,
I have posted Delaware County African-Americans Civil War Soldiers buried in
Beech Grove Cemetery. Also listed are the AA Soldiers who once lived in
Delaware Count but are buried elsewhere.

Could someone please lookup Lydia Hazelmyer family in the 1910 census for
Salem township. I am looking for a daughter Martha that was born 1900. I
believe I have found Lydia's former husband in Madison County and would also
like to confirm that he is not on the Delaware county census.
I can usually get it on Ancestry but that page is broken for some reason.
This line I am researching is Martha Hazelmyer who married Frank Henry
Knobloch [b1896] in Delaware County on 17 Mar 1917. Frank Henry Knobloch is
the son of Adam Knobloch, from Van Wert Ohio/Whitley Co, Indiana area. Adam
was born in Meadville, Crawford, Penn in 1862, the son of Peter Knobloch and
Barabara Unknown. He married Wilhilmena Ferguson in Van Wert Co in 1886.
Nothing is know of Adam after marriage. He seems to have disappeared.
Wilhilmina "Mina" went on to marry Frank Wable in 1906 in Allen Co. Any
information on these lines appreciated.
Thank you so much!

Hello. Does anyone know if there are still family reunions for the Isaac
WILLIAMS (1771-1841), James Wesley WILLIAMS (1800-1878/79), John Allen
WILLIAMS (1827-1875) descendants? John Allen had a total of 16 children he
was responsible for, so I am assuming there have to be descendants still
around. They lived in Madison County and then moved to Delaware County.
Dr. John Allen WILLIAMS' children -
Children from first wife, Sarah Emmaline FORD were:
Sarah Jane WILLIAMS
James Monroe WILLIAMS
William Jasper WILLIAMS
Isaac Hull WILLIAMS
John Luther WILLIAMS
Leroy WILLIAMS
Laura Myrtle WILLIAMS
Children from second wife, Virginia (FULTON) FODGE were:
Ella R.(Rosetta?) WILLIAMS
Oliver Perry WILLIAMS
Adam Fulton WILLIAMS
Allen Wesley WILLIAMS
Harley Jacskon WILLIAMS
George Washington WILLIAMS
Children from Virginia's first marriage to Henry FODGE were:
Emily Jane FODGE
John Henry FODGE
Jeannette FODGE
I hope someone recognizes these names and can tell me more about the family.
Janni Smith Salés
(descendant through Laura Myrtle Williams)
Thank you very much! I appreciate knowing this. Thank you for answering.
Janni
