Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Mortuaries keep the information given, parents name, bith place, age and
where buried. The ones I have been in contact with have been most helpful.
The new owners will sometimes keep the info from the old owners. Not sure
what happens when the business is not sold. Sharon

Hi There,
I thought I would jump in, I typed a biography and posted a photo of Minus

I've posed this question to another list, but am interested in getting some
feedback. Has anyone contacted mortuaries to see what types of records they
keep? Or found out what happens to records once the mortuary is no longer in
business?
Several of my familiy members were sent to Meeks Mortuary (ML Meeks & Sons),
John W. Patterson, or Richard Taylor Mortuary. Both John W. Patterson and
Richard Taylor Mortuaries are no longer in business.
Thanks for your help.
PS --
Richard Taylor had a formula that perserved bodies for an extremely long
time. At one time he had a body that was unidentified. He preserved the body
and perched it in the window so that anyone going by might be able to help
identify him.
My grandmother spoke about this and Beech Grove Cemetary in Muncie also knew
of the story.
Works better if I send the link! :-) Sorry about that.

I noticed that you have a Jane Turner Patterson in your line. I am
searching for information on Elsie Alice Turner Pence. All I know about her
is that she was born abt. 1842 in Indiana. Married Reuben Pence, Sept. 19,
1863 in Delaware Co. Their 4 children were all born in Del. Co. They lived in
the Smithfield area. Her parents may have been Joshua Turner and Rhoda Moor.
I know there are a lot of Turners, but I keep hoping to find the right
family. I know she died between the 1900 Census and 1910 Census. She was my
great grandmother.

Would anyone know what happened to Keith Fisher's webpage that was
called Genealogical Gleanings (www.infinet.com/~wkfisher) this was the
url? At one time there was a link to it on the Delaware Co. Historical
Alliance or the Delaware Co. Genweb page. It had several surnames, like
Gibson and Stafford. I sent the url to a friend who was married to
Howard Stafford and later she sent to her great niece and granddaughter
of Sarah Stafford but the url no longer works. Can anyone help?

Thank you to Bob, Linda, David, Tim, Donna, and all the others who responded to my query. I didn't give his or her name cause I
thought I'd go digging myself if there were cemetery listings. I keep forgetting just how helpful these lists are. What a great
group we have here!
His name is Samuel (R.) Patterson.
Her name is Jane (Turner) Patterson
Thanks again,
