Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
That is such a cool thing to do! I wish more people would do that when they
find old medals, photos, etc.

A friend of mine in Florida found some type of Military medal at a swap
meet. It has a picture of Lieutenant George Hatfield who was killed at
Chickmauga. He was from the 84th regiment of Indiana Volunteers. On the
right side of the medal/pendant it says 42nd Annual Reunion 84TH Ind.
Volunteers Muncie IN Sept. 14, 1917.
She would like to give it to the rightful owner. She will go back and buy it
this Sunday. The seller is holding for her til she finds this family. I told
her to buy it anyway. If anyone knows of this man or his descendants PLEASE
contact me and I will forward her your info. Thanks!!!!!

Thanks for the click, Virginia
Just to let ya'll know, that the directories are far from complete
so you may want to keep checking back. Shirl is pretty slow at
these kinda things, so give her at least 5-10 years a for full completion.

Hi everyone:
I just joined the list a few days ago. I am researching the Collins
Surname. I have found in 1835 an Elijah Collins owned a section of land in
Delaware Co. Would some one be so kind to give me the phone # and address
of where I need to send for a copy of the deeds? I have looked but
probably am not looking in the right place.
Some of the first names of the Collins I am researching are:William, Elijah
(?), Edgar, Wilson, Harrison, John, David, Henry, James, Jeremiah, and
Silas.
Some of the last names are: COLLINS, EMMERSON, BLACK, BUCKNER AND PRICE.
>From Ohio the Collins went to Indiana, Ar, Ok and Tx. Please contact me if
any of the names above are familiar to you and see if we can make a
connection.
Thanks for your help.
Lee Ann Collins
This came through the request address, so i am passing it on.....

Francis Harris was in the 1820 Perry Co. Census. He probably moved to
Delaware Co. Indiana before 1830. One known son was Hugh Carrel Harris.
Carrel may have been his mother's name?
Francis had either a brother or a son Benjamin who was the administrator of
his estate and also an heir.
Other children listed in the 1845 probate: Christena Wood, Mary Bobo wife of
Martin, Isaac and David Harris, Hannah Connelly wife of George W., Jane and
Rachel Harris of McLean Co., IL, Francis, Elizabeth and Susannah Harris were
minors Perry County, OH.

Kelly,
Are either of these Beeson's related to the well-known 'Kid' Beeson, trick roller skater, from Muncie? He was a very good friend of my grandfathers when they were young men. Someplace, I have a photo of him.

Subject: [INDELAWA-L] Beeson
Would anyone happen to know anything about Jack Beeson, born in Muncie.
He is still living and is a famous Opera-Composer. I have found some
good bio's on him (with pictures), but none that mention his lineage.
Does anyone know if his Beeson family ties in with the Harrold, Kiger,
Gibson, etc....families. It seems odd that two people who's surnames
were both common relatives of each other, and were so famous in the
opera world and both would come from out of Muncie, are they related?
The other was Orville Harrold who was a famous Opera singer (tenor) with
the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York. I have yet to find Orvilles
parents names as well. Any help out there? I would also like to find
more on Orvilles daughter Patty Harrold who was in the intertainment
business,
as a Hollywood musical star.
