Augustus Hull may be related to the Joseph Augustus Hull whose obituary
is in the St Joe News, Thursday 06 Jan 1937. Joseph Augustus Hull was
born 21 Oct 1860, and was the oldest son of Henry Hull and Sarah A.
Widney. Henry was a native of Ohio while Sarah was a Hoosier.
H. H. Hull MD born in Coshockton County Ohio on 04 Feb 1815, son of
Henry Hull and Christina Cox., natives of VA and PA, lived on his
father's farm until age 19, when he began study of medicine, and when 21
began his practice. In 1851 he moved to DeKalb Co. [History of DeKalb
Co., IN -1885, page 713.
Henry Hull b 24 Mar 1834, eldest son of Hiram Hull and Sarah Sloan,
natives of Ohio and of German descent....reared by grandfather Henry
Hull living with him from age of 2 to age 26. At age 15 his grandfather
moved to DeKalb Co., Orangeville, IN. [ibid. page 532]

Henry age 35 bp OH (this should be Dr. H. H. Hull)

In 1850 census DeKalb Co. IN, dwg. 64, family 64
John Jenkins age 30 (should read age 37, see later census) bp MD
Margaret age 31 (should read age 38) bp PA (bc 1812)
and children ranging age 17 to age 4
John Jenkins married Margaret Hull in Knox Co. OH 31 Mar 1831. Their
daughter, Mary Ann Jenkins married Joseph Koch in DeKalb Co., IN and I
am a descendant.
Could you explain your notation Augustus HULL (Jenkins)?
In 1840 Knox Co. we find the following Hulls:
Hiram Hull, Harrison Twp
William Hull, Harrison Twp and others in different twps., including
John Hull, Howard Twp. History of Knox Co. 1803-1881 by N. N. Hill
states John Hull, farmer, P.O. Howard, born in Washington Co. PA in
1806, went to Wheeling VA at age 6 (1812), to Coshocton Co. [OH] at age
18 [1824].
I think your Augustus Hull must be descendant from one of above Hulls.
I'd be interested in what you find out. I need to place my Margaret Hull
also. :) Dick
