I recently subscribed to the list as I have found that a "whole bunch" of
people connected to my family moved to DeKalb Co. in the 1840's. Anyone
with the surname GONSER or ROW are likely connected although I may not know
how at this time. If you are researching these names or have anyone
connected I may be able to help (and vice versa).
One of the families was that of David GONSER (1789-1856) and Catherine
MILLER who married in Tuscarawas Co. OH
Their children (and their spouses) were:
John B. GONSER and Catherine DeVORE moved to IA
Jacob GONSER and Mary BROWN - moved to KS
Elizabeth GONSER and John HOUSER
David G. GONSER and Elizabeth GUSHWA - moved to St. Joseph Co. IN
Sarah A. GONSER - not married died age 23
Daniel GONSER and Catherine BAUGHMAN
Moses GONSER and Louisa WRIGHT - to Steuben Co. IN
Elias GONSER and Harriet SHORT
Susannah GONSER and John LING
Mary GONSER and Daniel KIMMEL
Many of those who did not move away are buried in Fairfield Cemetery.
David was the brother of my gggg grandmother, Mary (Molly) GONSER ROW.
