This was in the Jackson Citizen Patriot today. It is exactly as it appears
in the paper except where I have added Michigan in parenthesis to better
identify the locations for people not familiar with the area:
SPENCER, GERALD E.
"JERRY" ---
Aged 75, of Onsted (Michigan), died November 6, 2001 at Ganton Countryside
Care Center, Jackson (Michigan). He was born February 1, 1926 in DeKalb
County, Indiana. On June 5, 1946 he married Lois A. Horton in Blissfield
(Michigan).
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and was retired from
Tecumseh Products.
Jerry is survived by his wife Lois; two daughters, Joy (Jim) DeLisle of
Grass Lake (Michigan) and Judy (Bud) Cote of Onsted (Michigan);four
grandchildren, Kevin, Jaso, Teralyn and Christine; and one great-grandson,
Jarrett; stepmother, Mary Spencer of Toledo; three sisters, Vivian Mithofer
of Florida, Marjorie (Robert) Hochmuth of Maine, and Janet Borton of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Spencer; one sister; and one
brother.
A memorial service will be hel at 1:00 P.M. Saturday in Purse Funeral Home,
Tecumseh. Visitation will be from 12 Noon on Saturday until the time of the
service.
