Hi Jackie!
Did some quick research for you, and found the location of
Jarvis! The town
from which gets its roots from Jarvis is still on the map, it is
the modern
town of Butler!
Jarvis "existed" from 8/20/1859 to 7/6/1868
Before then it was also known as Oak Hill 1851 - 1853, and Norristown 1853
to 1859.
Apparently it also went by "Mudd Junction" for a short time before it was
named Jarvis.
In 1868 it was known as Butler Station for a short time before it
was named
"Butler" on 7-6-1868.
NOTE: Until Jan. 14, 1868 - "Butler" was located in Butler Twp (southwest
DeKalb Co.), south of Garrett, later to be renamed "New Era"
which today is
known as Butler Center !
Probably more than you were looking for, but interesting!
Karl
