My ancestor, William Park, is the brother of Wesley Park (none of the
records that I've seen have the 'e' at the end. They may have dropped it at
some point). Wesley was born July 22, 1811. He was married to Sophia Ingman.
Wesley was very prominent in DeKalb County. He is said to be the founder of
Auburn, IN. Go to the following web page:
<
http://www.rootsweb.com/~indekalb/index.html>
There is a search engine at the top of the page. Type in the word Park
(leave off the "e"). Many connections/links will come up for you to read.
Some will only have the word park generically, not the surname Park. Most
will refer to Wesley. There will be a county history and transcripts of
censuses etc. After you open a specific document hit "Contol" and "F"
at the
same time. Type in the word "park" and click on "find next" and it
will take
you to that word quickly for you to see the context.
After you check all of that out e-mail me and let me know what you think.
I'll also send you an invitation to a web page that I have my family tree
linked to so you can check out any info you'd like to see. I have several
families from DeKalb County. This (the Park line)has been one of my brick
walls, so if you have info about Wesley and William's parents I will be very
excited! Hope to hear from you soon.
