Claudia,
Steve has given you good instructions on how to find the cemeteries. The
Railroad Inn is still in operation. I was there in December and while I didn't
have the pie, the food was good. Since you are staying in Auburn I will
recommend Richards Restaurant. They recently moved into a new building that is
connected to a motel, Budget Inn I think. The original restaurant was just torn down
to make way for a CVS Pharmacy I believe so there may be construction at the
corner of 7th and Grandstaff. The address is 940 West 7th Street (the main
drag in Auburn) and the phone number is 260.925.0341 - the Broasted Chicken is
worth the trip and you get a good hearty Indiana breakfast there as well.
Steve's suggestion for you to stop at the Willennar Center is one I would
strongly recommend you follow before going to the cemeteries. You can find the
link for the Willennar on the DeKalb County INGenWeb Project web site. We list
their address and hours of operation as well. The Calvary cemetery has been
transcribed and been placed on the DeKalb County GenWeb site - just click on
the link below. You will need to check on the Christian Union cemetery at the
Willennar Center.

Best of luck with your research and trip. Let us know if you need further
assistance.

Hi, Dan!
Thank you SO much for the information on Garrett and Auburn! Our suitcase is
packed and we're ready to head out tomorrow morning! I'm really excited
about seeing my father's birthplace again after 28 years! Your information has
been printed out and will be extremely useful! I hope to eat at the Railroad
Inn Monday night and if Richards Restaurant serves lunch, maybe we can grab a
meal there, too! I'm planning on a stop at the Willennar Center and Railroad
Museum as well!
Again, thank you and thank everyone on the list who has offered such
wonderful assistance for my upcoming trip to DeKalb County!!
Blessings!
