Yes the death certificates were supposed to be registered starting in 1882. Some doctors
did not comply with the new laws. My great grandfather passed away in 1883 and his son in
1886. Neither death was recorded.
We have found some court records that supply us with information that fills in some gaps;
but it takes time and patience.
