Hmmm . . .
Actually, McMillan's A History of My People and Yours (1956) indicates that
Nathan Lake (1856-1934) married Sidney Dragon [sic] in 1884 and that Lewis
Nelson Lake (1861-1938) married Callie Dragoo (1873-1932). According to
AHoMYaY, Nathan and Lewis were brothers, both sons of Lucius Nelson Lake and
Margaret E. Tyndall. However, Lucius and Margaret's son George W. Lake (b.
1869) is listed as a bachelor. He would have been too young to marry Callie
Dragoo in 1875.
It was my ancestor, George P. Lake (1834-1911), son of Nathan (a different
Nathan) and Jerusha (Sheldon) Lake and brother to Lucius Nelson Lake (above)
who married (2) Mary Jane (nee Horn) Dragoo. She was the widow of George
Dragoo (d. 1872?). George and Mary J. (Horn) Dragoo had several children,
among them a Callie Dragoo (b. Jan 1873), who could have been the Callie
Dragoo who married Lewis Nelson Lake (above).
Confusing, isn't it?!
Hope this helps!
