Thank you so much for your quick response. Neither of those names sound
familiar, but some my Arnold family moved north to Summit and Medina Cos.,
(Akron and Medina) and several of those Arnolds moved to northern Indiana.
My Arnolds came from Somerset Co., Pa., and arrived in Wayne Co. in 1815.
Another branch of the family went south of here to Knox Co. And I forgot to
add dates to my query. Mathias was born 15 Aug 1869 to Mathias and Amy Helen
First Arnold in Wayne Co., Oh. He died 12 Aug 1922 probably in or near
Auburn, but I'm not sure where he is buried. My aunt, my father's sister,
lives east of Auburn but doesn't know how to do genealogical research. Her
name is G'Nell Abel.
And may I add, DeKalb Co. has one of the best web sites I've ever visited,
and I've visited a LOT! I've found relatives that I believed had died here
in Wayne Co. or had just disappeared! Please keep up the excellent work! It
just shows that you have many dedicated genealogists at work to help those of
us who can't visit DeKalb Co. (or get there on the weekends for family
visits). (My son was a participant in the annual Auburn, Cord and Dusenburg
parade several times). And we visit my aunt about once a year.
Thank you again and if I can help you with your Arnolds (if yours are from
any of those places I named) please let me know. I belong to the Wayne Co.
Genealogical Society and help the 4-H kids in the spring in getting their
projects started.
