Just a few notes to assist you and to "wet" your
genealogical "appetites."
Kenny Warstler has a new email address: "Warstler"
<wars356(a)dklb.net> Kenny is our "Civil War buff" See
his page on the DeKalb Web site at "DeKalb County
Soldiers." This should be changed on the page very
soon; but in the meantime you can reach him at the
above email address. Thanks Kenny for your help.
Arlene Goodwan who oversees the queries on the
rootsweb message boards and has done a great job of
typing articles and submitting them has an email
address of:"Alice Goodwin" <aagoodwin46706(a)yahoo.com>
Thanks Arlene for your help.
For over a year a group of people in connection with
the Garrett Public Library and the Eckhart Public
Library have worked extremely hard to copy, transcribe
and proofread and proofread and again proofread the
1850, 1860, and the 1870 Agricultural Census. This
took a lot of work from a great group of people.
Thanks to one and all. We have submitted this to
Cheryl and we are looking forward to having it
available to the people searching their roots in
DeKalb County, Indiana.
Thanks to Scott Tony for all the hard word in
transcribing, typing, proofing and working on the
Cemeteries. He has submitted his last group and we
are looking for them on the web. Thanks Scott for
putting the extra effort on the days you did not feel
well and still carried on a full time job and and
helping with your family.
Thanks to Karl and Diane for working on the index for
"As a City Grows." We know that you have a full
schedule and this was an extra task. Thanks
Thanks Roxanne for being their when I needed some
help. I know your job and your family keeps you busy.
Thanks to Lynn for all the work behind the scenes.
Thanks Betty, for your offer of help and we hope that
you are feeling better and on the road to recovery.
Thanks to Debbie, Richard, and all the other
volunteers that I may have missed. Please forgive me
if I have and contact me regarding the slip up.
Thanks to Cheryl for updating and helping on the Web
Page.
The new Genealogy Center in Auburn will open for
business on September 3, 2002. Lynn Kaiser will be
the interim director. If you live in the area and
would like to be a volunteer, please contact Lynn at
"Lynn Kaiser" <lakais(a)fwi.com> and she will give you
the name of the Consultant working with volunteers. We
will provide more details in the near future re the
Open House.
Also, If you live in the area, we could use some
assistance in proofreading the WPA records at the
Health Dept. Since we need to proofread them against
the original, it takes two people. Thanks
Have a great day and look for the next changes.
