Hi Dereck,
Thanks for the Jacob information. I think I have Hester with the wrong
Jacob and will correct this.
I dug back into my DeKalb Co. IN records and found that Jacob G. DEETZ
married Amanda HENNEY on 24 April 1883. I have her birth date as c. 1858 as
she was 22 on the 1880 census (in DeKalb Co.). This assumes that she is the
daughter of Jacob Henney and Catherine Snellenberger. Since this was in IN
they must have returned to Ohio to live.
However there is another Amanda in the county, the daughter of George
Henney and Maria Beyer (Boyer) who was born 1 Aug. 1861. I have her death
date as 1938, but no place. I have no spouse for her. You have her married
to Leonard Shipe in 1882. I will double check these marriage records
tomorrow and see if I can find a marriage record for this couple. I will
also double check cemetery records for this county for some new names.
Perhaps I can fill in some blanks for us.

Hi,
I am also looking for descendents of William R. CHILSON. My interest is also in
his siblings and ancestors but I have information about daughter Susan Marion
CHILSON. She and her family moved from Ohio to DeKalb Couny IN and then to
Decatur County KS with her brother James Madison CHILSON. Other surnames
associated with CHILSONs in Dekalb County are: McGONIGLE and BELL.

I am looking for information on members of the CHILSON family who moved to
DeKalb Co. in about 1856. The head of the family was William R. Chilson who
was born in possibly Vermont in 1811. In 1832 he married Sarah
Vanest/VanNess in Trumbull Co., OH.
The family moved from Trumbull to Stark or Summit Co., OH then to Tuscarawas
Co., OH and to Defiance Co, OH before coming to DeKalb.
William died in DeKalb Co. 21 Jan. 1894 and Sarah 3 Jan 1897. They are
buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
I am looking for the parents of William. And would love to find an obituary
for William and Sarah.
One of their daughters was Harriet C. Chilson who married George Headley in
May of 1857. I was told Harriet died 9 Nov 1877 but I have not been able to
find a record of her death or burial information.
They were the parents of 11 children. DeKalb Co. surnames associated with
the family are Wilbur, Headley, Emerson, Rex and Hendershot.
Betty, do you realize that Debbie Tarantino is a cousin of ours? Kathleen

Hi,
I noticed that one of your names was Zimmerman. Emily Zimmerman was my
great great grandmother. She married Christian Leiter. Her name is all I
know about her. Could she be one of your Zimmermans? Thank you.
Yours in Christ,
Debbie

Hi,
I, too, have deep roots in DeKalb County. I noticed that you are researchng
the name Wyatt. My great great great grandfather, Samuel Wyatt married
Matilda Watson. Their daughter, Mary, married George May, and their
daughter, Estella May married Robert William McNabb, my great grandfather.
Do you see any connection to your Wyatts? I would love to know more about
the Wyatt side of my family. Thank you.
Yours in Christ,
Debbie

DAYS is one of the surnames I am researching. Adam DAYS, b. ca 1780, d.
before January 11, 1866. In the 1860 Indiana census, he lived in the
household of Albert S. MARTIN, in Smithfield Twp., DeKalb Co. His age
was listed as 80 and his birthplace as Pennsylvania.
His will lists the following children: Mary CAMPBELL, Catharine
POLLARD, Benjamin DAYS, Clark DAYS, and Julia Ann LOCKAMYER. His wife,
Sarah, died in Baughman Twp., Wayne Co., Ohio. Her will mentions
another daughter, Lucinda.
I have not been able to find a death record or a burial site for Adam
DAYS, or for his daughter Catharine DAYS POLLARD, or for her husband,
John POLLARD, although I believe all of them died in DeKalb County. Is
anyone else researching this family?
Carolyn
